outdoor_3.jpgOutdoor Jobs - if you don't have experience.

There are plenty of jobs you can do outdoors, even if you have never done any work like this before. Here are some examples.

Fruit Thinner: Usually done during November and December. In this job, you take some of the young, unwanted fruit from the trees by hand to allow the remaining fruit to grow to full size. You will normally get paid according to the number of trees you thin per day or per week.

Fruit Picker: This job involves picking fruit off trees into a bucket strapped to your shoulders, which you then empty into fruit bins. You usually get paid by the amount of bins you fill with fruit that meet certain size, colour, maturity, and quality standards. You have to be reasonably fit, happy to work on a ladder and be able to see well.

Fruit tree pruner: A skilled job that you'll have to train for if you haven't done it before. Tree branches are pruned by use of secateurs, loppers, or electronic pruners. you'll probably also work with ladders and elevated work platforms.

General Vineyard Work: General maintenance work (Wire tucking, debudding etc)
