Small things can make big impressions. Just
take New Zealand for instance – on the world scale we’re just a little
place, yet thanks to all that’s special and unique about us, we’re one of
the world’s favourite destinations. Again, it’s many of the little things
that set us apart. Fancy a drink of water? Well it’s fresh and free
straight from the tap, so help yourself! And if you’re keen to grab a tent
and get away from the city, you’ll be pleased to hear that in New Zealand
you can practically camp on the side of the ride for free.
And New Zealand’s not only a small nation geographically speaking;
we’re also pretty light in terms of population numbers. In fact there are
just over 4 million people in our entire country – that’s a lot less than
some single overseas cities! But what does that mean? Quite simply, it
means there’s ample room for you to get around at your own pace and enjoy
our stunning, uncrowded places in all their glory. And whether that
taking in some of our stunningly beautiful beaches, or heading up to the
heights of our majestic mountain ranges, you’re free to roam and enjoy our
country the way you want to. And even when you’re way of the beaten track,
it’s usually no more than a couple of hours drive to the nearest major
city.
“There's a real
purity in New Zealand that doesn't exist in the states. It's actually not
an easy thing to find in our world anymore. It's a unique place because it
is so far away from the rest of the world. There is a sense of isolation
and also being protected.” - Elijah Wood
There are so many ways to enjoy New Zealand, and so many things you can
do (many of them totally free) Just check out the 101 must do’s for kiwis,
for heaps of great ideas. And after you’ve checked those out, why not take
a look at this cool video clip on our Tourism New Zealand web page.
Perhaps one the best indicators of how great New Zealand is, is the
high regard international visitors hold for us. Travellers just like you
have proven that we are a top notch place to visit - New Zealand was voted
the most popular tourist destination in UK ( Daily Telegraph UK poll
November 2007). Want some celebrity endorsement? Well how about this -
Jack Nicholson, Bill Gates, Justin Timberlake and Orlando Bloome all
choose to holiday here. Tom Cruise and Shania Twain have even have
property here.
And of course there’s our fascinating Maori
Culture. A must while you are here is to attend a Maori Culture show and
experience an authentic Haka (type of warrior dance) and waiata (song) by
our performers or locals. You will not see anything like this
anywhere else in the world.
In terms of working in New Zealand, we have a minimum wage – making it
fair for all working people who are working to receive good money for
doing so. We have very little crime and we are a healthy nation –
you don’t need shots for malaria or typhoid or any other foreign bug to
come and visit us.
Come and Pick n Play with Adecco and get an experience like no other.
Step foot in our paradise and decide for yourself – you will soon see why
everyone is talking about us.
